ENGLISH

In our writing lessons we will be using a range of texts, as well as stimuli such as images and film, to inspire children’s writing, with a link to our topic: Our Changing World. During our reading lessons, we will be focusing on the children’s ability to understand a wide range of different types of texts.

maths

In maths, the children will be covering place value and number (with a focus on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), solving a wide range of problems. They will also have arithmetic lessons once a week, which will focus on their core skills.

Learning Diaries and Keeping in Touch

Your child will be expected to still record their homework, spellings and reading in their diary. This is a fantastic resource for the children to use, but also key for parent and teacher communication. Please continue to read with your child, at least 3 times per week and record this in their diary with further comments.

homework

The children will receive a homework grid this half term and can choose one, or more, activities to complete per week. The children’s login details for their educational apps can be found in their learning diaries.
