our topic is: Ancient Egyptians

Our curriculum provides many opportunities for cross curricular links, which allows various subjects such as geography and history, to be taught through the same topic. This is very exciting for the children and their learning. The title of our topic this half term is ‘Ancient Egypt.’ We will not only be exploring what life was like in Egyptian times, but also learning about Howard Carter’s famous discovery of Tutankhamun, even creating some fantastic Egyptian art!

ENGLISH

We will be focusing on persuasive writing and information texts, carrying out research and writing up our findings.

maths

This half term we will be looking at place value, addition and subtraction

pe: Class 4F

4F will be doing PE on Tuesday and Friday. Please could you ensure that you child has their PE kit with them on these days. It would be extremely useful if children could bring in a pair of gym pumps and a pair of trainers. During the cold weather, please provide warm clothing for lessons outside.

pe: class 4A

It would be extremely useful if children could bring in a pair of gym pumps and a pair of trainers. During the cold weather, please provide warm clothing for lessons outside.

Learning Diaries and Keeping in Touch

Your child will be expected to still record their homework, spellings and reading in their diary. This is a fantastic resource for the children to use, but also key for parent and teacher communication. Please continue to read with your child, at least 3 times per week and record this in their diary with further comments.

homework

The homework children complete is based around the current topic and there are a number of different activities that the children can chose to do. They can chose activities depending on their interest and what they enjoy doing. Please ensure your child completes one piece of homework from the grid. Children should also complete challenges on ‘Times Table Rock Stars’ at home too.

Supporting your child at home
